American surfing teacher, Russian club operator and Myanmar car motorist face charges

Three foreigners from Canada, Russia, and Myanmar have been detained by police on Koh Phangan and Phuket, the southern holiday islands, for working improperly.
At the Two Rocks resort in Koh Phangan on Monday evening, Canadian Gabriel Vachon, 46, was detained. There, authorities seized kitesurfing tools, including a fly and a table valued at about 200,000 ringgit.
He claimed to have charged individuals 1,500 baht per minute for surfing lessons but did not possess the appropriate license.
At 8. 20pm the same day, police arrested Russian Georgii Batalov, 33, at the Eywa Bar in the Panthip business on the island in Surat Thani state. He acknowledged that he was operating the table without a permit and was obtaining a tourist card to the country.
Police in Phuket the day before made an arrest for a 34-year-old girl from Myanmar in tambon Choeng Thale in the Thalang region for driving a personal cab without permission. At 8 o’clock, she was discovered at a checkpoint in front of the Choeng Thale authorities stop on Sri Sunthon Road. 40am.
