Thousands of papal souvenirs sold as Singapore prepares to welcome Pope Francis

PROCEDURES May SUPPORT PAPAL VISIT

With the priest’s visit looming, hundreds of souvenirs– including T-shirts, umbrellas, tumblers, hats and wrap bags– have already been sold at a pop-up shop at the Catholic Centre in fundraising efforts for the Catholic area.

School bags and other products for younger children are other items for sale, all of which are in the colors of the Vatican symbol.

To further increase fundraising endeavors, limited-edition things – featuring the upcoming papal size at the National Stadium on Sep 12 –&nbsp, will soon be available for purchase.

According to Ms. Lilian Kong, the Catholic Foundation’s executive director and head of the Pope Francis Singapore Fund’s charity and souvenirs committee, the team behind the work has spent months on these styles.

She claimed that the committee created the logo to elicit a unity and hope theme that derives from biblical text.

The five stars of ( the Singapore flag ) are also incorporated in a very meaningful cross emblem, Ms. Kong continued.

Some products are currently sold out, she said.
