A European man’s immigration was suspended in Thailand after he reportedly kicked a native girl sitting on the steps next to his mansion in Phuket, causing a growing backlash.

According to Urs Fehr and his Thai woman Khanuengnit, they believed she was breaking into their home. Eventually, they offered an apology.

Eventually, a large crowd of irate locals gathered in front of their beachfront palace on Sunday to demand Mr. Fehr’s eviction.

On average, more than 100 000 immigrants have settled in Phuket.

Millions of tourists visit the island annually, making it one of Thailand’s most well-known tourist destinations.

According to nearby studies, the incident occurred on February 24 when Mr. Fehr, the managing director of an elephant sanctuary in Thailand, punched Thandao Chandam in the back while she and her companion sat outside their occupied mansion. Fehr, 45, is the managing director of the elephant shelter.

Ms. Khanuengnit reportedly berated Ms. Thandao, a dentist in Phuket.

Mr. Fehr alleged that Ms. Thandao and her friend had trespassed on his home and that he thought they were intruders. He even claimed, according to Bangkok Post, that he had slipped while walking toward Ms. Thandao rather than kicked her.

Locals yelled out infuriated after the event, with many calling for the authorities to revoke Mr. Fehr’s immigration and demanding the restoration of open access to the beach close to his house.

” It turns out that immigrants are occupying to some places. One of the protesters, Bangkok Post cited as saying,” Choose handle this.

Eventually, it was discovered that the villa’s actions were constructed improperly on public land. Officials have mandated that they be taken down.

Authorities announced on Wednesday that the doctor has been charged with rape after the event and the doctor has lodged a complaint with the police.

Fehr may be detained, according to immigration officials, but he can stay in Thailand for the time being to support himself in the rape case.

After the event, Srettha Thavisin, Thailand’s prime minister, stated that he has instructed the ministry of tourism and police to take additional steps to make sure foreigners follow Thailand’s rules.
