Last year, there were more than 2,000 illegal medication smuggled into South Korea from Thailand.

The country accounted for 187&nbsp, kilogrammes&nbsp, of the full of 780kgs, or 24 %, confiscated by South Korean officials last month, Yonhap news agency reported on Tuesday, citing state data.

The United States was second with 20 %, followed by Germany, 12 %, and Laos, 9 %, the report said.

The Korea Customs Service (KCS) reports that South Korea seized 184 kilograms of illegal drugs in the first four months of this year, a 13 % decrease over the same period last year. However, the number of attempted attempts increased by 14 % to 234.

By the end of the month, South Korea will open a new customs inspection section at the country’s gateway, Incheon International Airport, to verify all carry-ons and check all passengers entering the airport from nations producing or passing illegal drugs.

” We’ve tightened border power, which has led to a recent drop in huge- level smuggling efforts. Our main goal will also be to find small-scale trafficking cases, according to a KCS firm official, Yonhap.
