SINGAPORE: A 15- yr- older male student will be charged on Wednesday ( Mar 27 ) with deliberately causing hurt by dangerous weapons, after allegedly striking a survivor with a steel rod in Sengkang.
According to a news release released on Wednesday, an unidentified perpetrator supposedly struck the defendant’s up with a steel rod and hurled vulgar things at her as she was walking along Fernvale Lane.
The victim suffered minor injuries as a result, officers added.
Around 12pm on March 22, the officers reported an assault case to the police, and initial investigations revealed that the assault was unjustified.
Officials from Ang Mo Kio Police Division verified the personality of the student using images from police devices, and he was later detained on Monday.
The officers, according to the authorities, “have zero tolerance for such violent acts of violence” and will not hesitate to take legal action against those who flagrantly break the law, they added.
The teen may face a charge of using a dangerous weapon to deliberately inflict harm. If convicted, he does face a prison term of up to seven times, or with a great, or with whippings or any configurations of the consequences.
