Officials in China are looking into a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) center in the northern Hubei province after at least 15 people officially passed away while receiving cancer treatment.  ,
The Yaowang Valley Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, which is situated in a mountain range, attracted a lot of interest online when Wu Pengfei, its leader, sold rumors that TCM could treat cancer and was discovered to have carried out false advertising, according to Chinese media reviews.
The clinic was fined 417, 000 yuan ( US$ 57, 360 ) for engaging in “illegal acts” such as employing non-health workers to carry out medical practices. Additionally, it failed to keep track of treatments and payments of medications.
According to an essay published by the Beijing News daily newspapers, the office opened on Apr 18 and shut down on May 31 and attracted 392 people. At least 15 people have since died and 20 fell severely ill.  ,
An friend of Wu’s, Hou Yuanxiang, claimed in a video promoting the clinic and its services that he possessed “unique health abilities” and was the” first people in China to treat cancer using TCM.”
He was recently found guilty of making and selling fake medications, and he is currently facing additional charges related to medication management violations.
Wu claimed that more than 3, 000 cancer patients had gone away from their tumors after receiving treatment from Hou, and that their solution price was more than 80 %.  ,
Ms. Wang Xiaoying, a lady from Qingdao city whose brother had been treated at the office after he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, spoke with Beijing News.  ,
The home was first informed of the office through an online account that promoted its services and claimed its founder may cure cancer.  ,
Ms. Wang claimed that they drove to the doctor in April and chose to see the priciest physician. Her late sibling had paid 18, 620 yuan for a seven-day therapy known as the “plum grow moxibustion” therapy and was given a” key prescribing” after a conversation that lasted for less than five minutes ,
Moxa is a plant that is burned on or near the skin’s area in moxibustion, a TCM treatment.
After returning to Qingdao, Mr Wang took the medicines and developed serious constipation.  ,
He continued taking the medication for a half-month and lost 5 kg. After being diagnosed with oedema, a serious condition that develops when liquid accumulates in the stomach area, he was eventually taken to the hospital. Despite seeking medical attention, he died a fortnight after.  ,
Other households who came forward shared that their loved ones also passed away after visiting the center and showing dangerous signs of fatigue, appetite loss, diarrhea, and vomiting.  ,
