SINGAPRE: All crew members of a Malaysia-registered tanker were rescued after the ship sank in Singapore’s territorial waters off Pedra Branca on Sunday ( Jan 12 ).
The Silver Sincere received a distress call at around 3.40pm , according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore ( MPA ).
On living boats, all eight staff members had taken their seats out of the sinking vessel. They were therefore carefully recovered by Indonesia-registered ship Intan Daya 368, which was directed by MPA to provide help.
” As part of the search and rescue efforts, MPA had even deployed its art, along with those from the Singapore Police Coast Guard and the Republic of Singapore Navy. In a media release released later on Sunday, MPA announced that the search and rescue step had been completed.
” All staff are in good condition and will be disembarked at Batu Ampar, Indonesia”, it added.
According to MPA, rescue pulls have been activated to retrieve the vehicle. As a caution, oil flow answer create have also been activated.
Additionally, it stated that a nautical health warning is being broadcast to passing ships to avoid the incident site.
Navigational prospects in the Singapore Strait is not affected, it added.
