Singapore’s Olympic medal hope Max Maeder makes kitefoiling look easy, but how will a newbie fare?

But that was unlikely to happen if I kept the fly in command, said Talikov.

The key is to have it close to the 12 o’clock position, or almost immediately below, by making small, simple changes with the grip.

It felt like I had to learn how to compromise a bicycle as I gradually grew to grips with the kite. &nbsp,

This is n’t too difficult, I thought. &nbsp,

CHANGES OUT ON THE WATER ARE PERFECT FOR EVERYTHING.

I had to dip into the ocean before it was too late.

There was simply no way for a first-timer to get on a board and ride the waves, so Talikov made the decision to not use a metal table or even a surfboard.

I would instead be able to feel the sail pull me, while wearing a life jacket, helmet, and Talikov near by. &nbsp,

I was soon aware of how it felt to ride a bicycle, but it felt like it was done while you were staring directly at the sun and experiencing salt splashing your eyes, and as if you were waddling and thrashing around in the water.

Recommendations on community living for persons with disability to be out later this year

Mr. Tan has found a place for himself and a level in Yishun so that his boy may live on his own. &nbsp,

But, Hsu-Wen has his own concerns. ” I do n’t know how to do things. I’m scared that if I live alone, I do n’t know how to take care of myself”, he told CNA.

While Mr. Tan has been taking care of Hsu-Wen’s attention on his own, including the fact that she has a number of health problems, including insulin, and uses a chair,

Hsu-Wen’s case was sent to the social service organization Thoughts earlier this year after he visited the hospital for treatment.

Some caregivers do not seek help as they lack knowledge of service, said Ms Ong Lay Hoon, director of community-based help service at MINDS. She continued,” Even those who know may be hesitant to do so.”

Some caregivers lack the assurance that there are enough resources or individuals who are aware of the needs of the people who take care of the people who are it, she said.

” Privately, caregivers hope for a miracle, or waited for someone to step up as their leader, to truly take over the treatment of the people with philosophical illness that they have cared for for many years,” said one caregiver.

Mr. Tan’s boy has benefited from MINDS instruction, which has helped him gain more independence. &nbsp,

For example, Hsu-Wen has started taking public transportation around on his own. Since he started using a concessionary go, costs have also decreased. He has even made companions. &nbsp,

” If I’d known, &nbsp, I would have sent him to Thoughts much earlier. It’s so much better then … But at least then he’s happy”, said Mr Tan.

CNA Explains: Why companies issue sustainability reports, and how to make sense of them

To be sure, for fact-checking might be hard for the common man on the street, but one method is to look out for the inspector’s comments, said Assoc Prof Law.

Readers may also “be cautious” and determine if there’s a bias towards portraying a glowing statement card.

A great sustainability report should not only address the company’s achievements. If you see that, then that might not be a pretty healthy report”, Assoc Prof Law said.

He cited European food company Nestle, which discussed potential child labor in its most recent sustainability report.

For Singapore-listed companies, climate-related statements and change ideas remain lacking, according to at least one review.

Only 39 % of the 535 companies listed on the SGX’s FY2022 sustainability reports were taken into account in their overall risk management, according to the analysis.

Less than a quarter of respondents assessed the effectiveness of their methods in light of various climate scenarios.

And only 12 per share of corporations produced “reasonably extensive” climate change programs, noted the research done by SGX Regulation and NUS ‘ Centre for Governance and Sustainability.

The publication of Scope 3 pollution is another space that needs to be filled, according to authorities.

This is mainly due to businesses being more knowledgeable about measuring Scope 1 and 2 pollutants. The issue is made even more difficult by problems in gathering pertinent information from providers across the benefit chain, they added.

More can be done, according to Assoc Prof Law, given that Scope 3 pollution account for more than 70 % of the carbon footprint for the majority of businesses.

In the end, impact is crucial when creating a strong conservation report.

NUS ‘ Prof Loh noted that there has been” a lot of inflation in information” and sustainability information “keep getting longer and longer” in recent years.

” We need to improve… There’s a needed to go back to the fundamentals: An general tale, how does it fit with your company, climate data and how you’re handling the whole value chain. That’s all we need”.

Man passed HIV to girlfriend-turned-wife and sold her sexual services to other men, gets jail

A man who had the human immunodeficiency virus ( HIV ) later gave it to his girlfriend, who later became his wife and mother of his child.

He asked the woman to offer sexual services for quick money and continued to do so even after she gave birth to their baby and after he learned she had contracted HIV from him.

The 37-year-old Singaporean man was given a 20-month jail term on Monday ( July 22 ) for crimes relating to his involvement in sex work. &nbsp,

He admitted guilt on four counts under the Women’s Charter, including selling his partner sexual solutions on Telegram and living off of the proceeds from sex work. &nbsp,

Another 14 claims were considered in punishment.

Due to the court’s imposed joke orders, the man and his wife, who is now 43, cannot both be identified.

THE Event

The man and his wife were discovered to have met online and started dating in 2014. He told her at the start that he was HIV-positive.

He suggested that the person offer physical solutions for quick money the same year. Although the couple shared a home and worked together, they were unable to pay rent.

Initial disagreements between the woman and the man later turned out against her.

The woman had waited along the street while her boyfriend scouted for her in Geylang from 2014 to 2018.

He had then escort her to a guesthouse, following her and her client, and waited outside until she was done.

He agreed to pay S$ 70 ( US$ 52 ) to S$ 90, based on the type of service provided, and told his girlfriend to phone him if there was any difficulty.

Instead of making arrangements for how to divide the earnings, they used it for their shared meals and hire costs.

The girl was admitted to a doctor in September 2017 after being diagnosed with HIV. Both knew that the criminal had contracted it from her.

Despite this, the few both persisted with their sexual work arrangements. &nbsp,

Knowing that they would not get her often, the man told his girlfriend never to inform her customers about her Aids status.

Even though she was aware of the danger of it being passed on to her consumers, the lady agreed.

She once told her boyfriend that she wanted to let people know about her position, but he cautioned her against doing so because they would accept her services.

They both understood that the laws required them to tell their sexual partners about the woman’s potential transmission of HIV before engaging in sexual activity.

On top of this, the woman did not comply with her antiretroviral treatment ( ART ) from February 2018 to May 2018.

She stopped having sex job when she found out she was female with the defendant’s child at the beginning of 2018.

Wedding AND GIVING BIRTH ARE CONTINUED SEX WORKS.

They were married in July of this year.

Due to the rising costs of community living after the birth of their child, the offender requested that his now-wife provide sexual services once more in 2019.

After her husband’s persistent refusal, the lady once more rebelled, ultimately giving in.

She was unhappy about it, but she was aware that they needed it, and she agreed to begin charging in Geylang at the same levels.

This time, the criminal advertised his family on Telegram in search of customers. He posed as his partner and liaised with prospective clients, informing them about costs and arranging sessions.

In resorts or the child’s home’s living room, the person would perform sexual acts. Maybe, her child was sleep at home while the sexual function was continued.

Sometimes, the offender did take the child to the vacuum board as visitors came through.

The couple kept the fact that the woman was HIV positive and demanded that they use them. But, not all consumers used protection.

Even after the girl moved out in December 2020 owing to “household issues”, their sexual function design went on, judge records stated.

On Mar 15, 2022, the criminal texted his family to remind her about a consumer. The girl said she no longer wanted to work in gender and refused to serve him.

She said she had informed her parents about the layout. &nbsp,

The offender responded,” Do n’t tell anyone about it, Do n’t bother to talk to her dad.” He said he would speak to her and that he would stop her father and remove his number.

However, the person lodged a police statement.

Studies discovered that the man had spoken to at least 12 potential customers on Telegram between December 2021 and March 2022 despite the man frequently deleting meetings with the clients.

The attorney sought 21 to 22 months ‘ prison for the perpetrator, saying the time of offending was” large” at about four times.

The criminal instructed the woman to serve customers despite knowing about her situation and obligations to share her Aids status and had used a private house for prostitution. &nbsp,

Under a bill passed in Parliament in March, those who have HIV are no longer legally required to tell their physical associates about the risk of contracting it.

CNA has spoken with the trial about whether the lady was charged and whether she had HIV/differred to anyone else.

India to present 2024 budget amid concerns over inflation, joblessness and low wages

BUSINESSES ALSO SEEK Income Decline

However, some businesses have expressed worries that Tuesday’s finances may offer more relief just for large businesses.

This comes as smaller companies, often called the core of the American market, are struggling due to high prices, reducing customers ‘ spending capacity.

Some have urged a drop in goods and services taxes ( GST ).

The GST was implemented seven years ago, according to India’s financing department, and it was widely reported earlier this month. It replaced higher local taxes that reduced costs for important items like home equipment and cell phones. &nbsp,

However, smaller companies believe that GST, which stands at between 18 and 28 per share on most goods, threatens to soften income. Businesses typically pass on the price to customers in this way.

A more decline, according to them, may increase their competitiveness, especially as the holiday season draws near and the demand is expected to rise.

The Hindu spiritual celebration of Diwali, which takes place on November 1 this year, generally lasts for a few days during India’s festive period.

” Some of these products have a 28 % GST rate that the customers claim is excessive,” they say. I think this should be lower”, said Sushil Thakur, director of Arvee Income, an electronics shop in New Delhi.

” If the fees are reduced, next person’s purchasing power will increase. When that happens, income may also grow”, he added.

Singapore to hold most of World Aquatics Championships in Kallang for ‘logistics and operations efficiencies’

SINGAPORE: Most of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships will be held within Singapore’s Kallang precinct to “achieve logistics and operations efficiencies”, organisers said on Monday ( Jul 22 ).

After rumors that some events may take place in momentary pools in a shopping center car park, they responded to inquiries from CNA.

Unknown options who claimed the budget for the finals had been underestimated were even quoted in a subsequent media statement. In its comment on Monday, organizers did not address relevant questions on expenses and funding sources.

After moving from its initial Russian location in response to the conquest of Ukraine, the multi-discipline World Aquatics Championships will take place in Singapore from July 11 to August 3rd of this year.

In addition to swimming and artistic swimming events taking place in momentary lakes in the Leisure Park Kallang store, Singapore organisers announced earlier in July that water polo and jumping competitions may be held at the Sports Hub’s OCBC Aquatic Centre. Sentosa island would also host large jumping and open-water swimming.

According to Mr. Alan Goh, who co-chairs the organising committee and is also the CEO of Sport Singapore, having the majority of the activities held in the Kallang neighborhood will render it “more suitable for players to walk between the various competitors and teaching venues.”

” Fans can easily access various competitors activities in one place, too,” he continued.

According to Mr. Goh, venues were selected after a thorough evaluation and evaluation of the World Aquatics organization, taking into account specialized specifications, function scheduling, and spectator seating requirements. &nbsp,

On the momentary lakes, Mr Goh described them as a “purpose-built location which you meet the requirements of the finals”. &nbsp,

” It will building a opposition pool, a warm-up pool, ample spectator chairs, and dedicated sections for community occasions”, he added.

According to the organization, we conducted a cost-benefit evaluation and also made references to the strategy of previous World Aquatics Championships held in Hungary, Japan, and most recently in Doha, where the individual local organizing team constructed between two and six temporary lakes.

We are looking into ways to expand the use of this arena, including using it as a training or competition location for regional and local meets both before and after the championships. ” &nbsp,

She designed insurance plans for mental health and diabetes to help Singaporeans achieve financial security

” When somebody has psychological condition, there are also a lot of financial repercussions. They might not be able to operate. The caregiver will frequently also become impacted and will need to pay extra fees. For instance, they may abandon something that they love at household alone]for health reasons ]”, she said, explaining that the plan offers a financial safety net for this.

Prior to the pandemic, when mental condition was more boldly discussed, the program was put in motion.

” Though intellectual condition has become a very popular subject now, in 2019, it was still a stigma area. Furthermore, it was a hard thing to encourage our customers to talk about it at that point in time” ,&nbsp, she said.

However, Hadikusuma and her group pushed forward. ” We wanted to de-stigmatise psychological condition. Because if we include mental illness as a critical illness, we basically recognise it as a true health concern” .&nbsp,

HER BEST LEADERSHIP LESSONS

It’s a challenging process to create healthcare materials. To determine what to include, understand the situation, and establish the parameters of the policy, the insurance company must know the community.

It must validate the prices in the market and calculate the product’s price using financial expertise. Therefore, it has to produce the system, plan agreement, collaterals, and marketing material, and train its insurance agents how to use it.

All this falls under Hadikusuma’s jurisdiction, which is why she has a roughly 130-strong group including technical, research and innovative agencies.

She makes hyper-realistic baby dolls for a living. They go for as much as US,000

After Lee and her supporters reported it, it took an additional two to three months before the false accounts was removed from the site.

One way to check a born doll’s authenticity is by taking into account its price. Her puppets were selling for about US$ 1,500 at the time, while the swindlers were selling their representations for US$ 220 each.

” So if you see something at that price range, … you ca n’t expect ( dolls that are ) very realistic, high-quality”, she advised.

TURNING Figurines INTO DOLLARS

Lee claims that her unconventional job journey had taken her a long time.

As a child, she had a passion for authenticity painting and drawing. Her father, however, was not sympathetic of her musical interests. He thought pursuing a career as an artist may be challenging and unlikely to generate a nice income.

But she set off her desires, focusing rather on labor and raising four children. After her youngest child passed her Major School Leaving Examination, Lee found some day to renew her love of decoration in 2021.

She took a one-day starter course in acrylic painting and then took a factory on reborn-doll artwork. She started getting questions from collectors looking to purchase her creations as she started posting development pictures of her figurines online.
