Sunway iLabs concludes 4th iLabs Super Accelerator with investment into five startups

Sunway Development Labs (Sunway iLabs), the innovation provide of Sunway Team and Sunway University has concluded your fourth batch of its’ flagship Super Accelerator with a Demo Day where the top five startups pitched to an area of over hundred Angel investors, endeavor capitalists, and industry leaders.

The five startups, Swipey, YesHello, Beebag, Smart Clean and Lumirous were selected from a pool of more than 120 startups that applied for the program.

“Over the past few years, many initial projects have been started to connect startups to the Sunway ecosystem, with further funding possibilities given through our corporate venture capital adjustable rate mortgage, SunSEA Capital, and VCs that we positively partner with, like Kejora Capital, Gobi Companions, MAVCAP, Hive Southern East Asia, plus Penjana Kapital. Sunway has invested over US$44. 59 mil (RM200 million) in startups and endeavor building over the last few years and we remain devoted to equipping and allowing businesses in creating greater local improvements as part of our commitment to nation-building and improving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ” said Sunway Group CEO, Digital & Strategic Opportunities, Evan Cheah.

Over a period of 4 months, the online companies benefited from over 50 hours associated with mentorships, sharing periods conducted by creators and investors across the region, and opening paragraphs to Sunway’s business divisions. The chosen top five received a great investment of US$56, 500 (RM250, 000) at the start of the accelerator along with follow on funding of RM180, 000 after the Demo Time.

As of the Demonstration Day, this set of accelerator online companies have run seven projects with the different Sunway business units plus another five are usually in the planning stage.
