SQ321 turbulence: Singapore Airlines apologises after injured passenger complains about carrier’s silence

Singapore Airlines ( SIA ) apologized on Thursday ( May 23 ) to a hurt SQ321 passenger after he complained that the airline had not been forthcoming with information following the severe turbulence incident.

He had claimed that his wife, who is in intense care, needed a medical evacuation and that he had never received information about whether he would be able to file an insurance claim.

When flight SQ321 encountered abrupt and severe turmoil while flying over Myanmar on Tuesday, American member Keith Davis and his wife were on the plane, which had been traveling from London. It had to make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand.

One customer died from a heart attack in the affair, and many more were hurt, some of whom were in intensive treatment.

Speaking to press at Bangkok’s Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital from a chair and with his head bandaged, Mr Davis said:” No data from Singapore at all, not a single term”.

” I need to know, am I going through my plan? I got no idea. I’m absolutely in purgatory. My wife’s in ICU ( intensive care unit ), she’s in ICU, she needs a medevac ( medical evacuation )”.

In response to inquiries from CNA, SIA on Thursday apologized to Mr. Keith Davis and his wife and said it “provides them with the needed support and assistance they need during this challenging day.”

The airport said that a customer care agent, who is a team voluntary trained for such circumstances, has been in contact with the couple to give updates and support.

Additionally, SIA announced that arrangements have been made for Mr. Davis ‘ loved ones and family members to travel to Bangkok.
