Due to security concerns, the South Korean industry ministry has temporarily prohibited employees from accessing Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek, according to a ministry official who spoke on Wednesday ( Feb 5 ) as the government warns against using generative AI services.
According to authorities, the state issued a notice on Tuesday warning ministers and organizations to be wary of using AI companies like DeepSeek and ChatGPT at work.
Early this month, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, a state-run company, announced that it had prohibited use of AI companies, including DeepSeek.
South Korea is the latest authorities to issue warnings about DeepSeek thanks to the temporary restrictions.
American Treasurer Jim Chalmers urged Australians to be careful when using the Foreign AI design last month, while American officials are also considering DeepSeek’s implications for national protection.
The South Korean private regulator plans to inquire with DeepSeek about how people ‘ personal information is handled.
The debut of Taiwanese company DeepSeek’s most recent AI models shocked the technology industry. The business claims that its designs are on line or better than those created in the US for less money.
A company director said on Wednesday that tech big Kakao Corp has instructed its workers to refrain from using DeepSeek because of safety concerns. On the same day, the company announced its association with conceptual artificial intelligence heavy OpenAI.
Asian technology companies are now being more cautious about utilizing conceptual AI. SK Hynix, a maker of Artificial cards, has restricted access to conceptual Artificial services, and allowed limited usage when required, a spokesperson said.
Naver, a leader in the internet industry, has instructed its staff to refrain from using conceptual AI services that collect data from outside the organization.  ,
