Six individuals have been charged in connection with the death of the teenager who was slain by the accidental release of a gun possessed by another pupil in a computer class room on Thursday, police said.

Pol Maj Gen Paisan Wongwatcharamongkol, main of Nonthaburi police, confirmed on Friday that Noppasil Ngamsud, 14, was killed by the accidental discharge   of a handmade gun, not by an exploding key pad as initially documented by a teacher at the school.

The tragedy happened in a computer course at Wat Lad Pla Duk College in tambon Beat Rak Pattana, Nonthaburi’s Bang Bua Thong district, on Thurs afternoon.

The initial probe focused on the new computers within the classroom after college students and a teacher apparently told police they had heard an explosion. The keyboard at the table where Noppasil has been sitting was apparently damaged and some keycaps had flown off.

Noppasil sustained serious accidental injuries to his face including an injury about 3 to 4 centimetres deep near his left eyebrow.

He later succumbed to his accidental injuries.

Nevertheless , investigators later found traces of a topic that had hit his eye, plus during questioning a student confessed to carrying a pistol to school which they stated had been fired accidentally.

The particular gun was thrown into Bang Phai canal, from exactly where it was retrieved on Thursday.

Pol Maj Gen Paisan said 6 people were initially charged in connection with the incident. The student whom brought the gun to school was charged with recklessness causing death, possessing a firearm plus carrying a gun in public.

Based on his declaration, the student mentioned he had never fired the gun prior to but had lent it from a buddy to scare someone. The student hid the gun in his jacket and it unintentionally fired when this individual was about to put the jacket on, this individual claimed.

Of the other five, 2 were charged with possessing a gun and aiding in concealing or destroying evidence, while three were charged with aiding in concealing or destroying evidence.
