Singer Suthasini fulfils childhood dream of writing and producing a National Day song in Tamil

The biggest challenge has been filming the video in only one month. “Confirming the ideal venues, crew plus talents based on their availability and getting numerous organisations on board had been very challenging due to the time limit, ” the lady said. “One of the locations, Tampines Center Stadium, was only available for filming on weekdays. Since the talents are all operating or studying full-time, I had a hard time pinning down a filming date that everybody agreed on. ”

Besides dancers and percussionists, it also includes profiles of Singaporean frontliners and athletes.

“I featured the nurse, a teacher, a bus chief and a police officer, in order to represent some of the frontliners. For the past two years, they worked unceasingly to help keep things so as, ” Suthasini said. “As for the sports athletes, I featured them to honour their accomplishments and contributions in representing our country. ”

You’ll notice that the video furthermore features quite a lot of food, including satay, nasi lemak and kothu prata.

“To me, our foods has a lot of which means and representations of different traditions and lifestyle, ” she encouraged. “We can recognize with and connect with different ethnic groupings just by indulging in different foods.

“I recently travelled in order to Europe and has been very underwhelmed by food choices. Which was when I appreciated our country even more designed for what we had to provide in terms of flavour, ” she quipped. “I could go on and on about that! ”
