Singaporean filmmaker Anthony Chen will premiere new film The Breaking Ice at Cannes Film Festival in May

Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development starred in Chen’s’s very English-language show, Drift, which was recently released and was well-received at the Utah Sundance Film Festival.

Chen will make his fourth appearance at the monthly party, the new 76th version of the Cannes Film Festival. He was the first Singaporean to receive a Special Mention for his thin show Ah Ma in 2007.

In 2013, he made his second appearance with Ilo ILO. He was one of the executives who contributed to The Year Of The Everlasting Storm at the Special Screenings area in 2021, which was his most recent individual. All three of his movies received rave reviews, solidifying his status as one of Asia’s’s top executives.

The Cannes Film Festival may be held from May 16 to 27, this year. Asteroid City by Wes Anderson and Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese are two additional movies that will be shown.
