SINGAPORE:  , Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat will meet senior central and local Chinese leaders on a working visit to China, the Prime Minister’s Office ( PMO ) said on Sunday ( Apr 7 ).
Mr Heng, who is also , Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, may visit Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong from Apr 7 to Apr 12.
His and his business trip will “build on the positive momentum of high-level exchanges between Singapore and China,” according to PMO, adding that it will provide” a great opportunity for both sides to explore ways to strengthen diplomatic cooperation, as well as change opinions on regional and international concerns.”
Mr. Heng made contact with top Chinese diplomat Liu Jianchao during his subsequent visit to Singapore, when the Communist Party of China’s Minister of International Affairs, Lee Hsien Loong, and Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong were also in attendance.
During his six- day excursion, Mr Heng may also join visit companies and research institutes, and join with people from various businesses. He may be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Research Foundation, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Prime Minister’s Office.
