Singapore anti-drug agency arrests four suspects in nightspot raids

SINGAPORE: Anti-drug raids that took place over the course of four days at five distinct nightclubs in the Joo Chiat, Marina Bay, and Bugis areas have resulted in three Malaysian men and one woman being detained.

The Central Narcotics Bureau( CNB ) stated in a news release & nbsp on Sunday( Sep 10 ) that the youngest of the four suspects was an 18-year-old Singaporean teenager.

Police officers were also involved in the assault, which was carried out from Thursday to Sunday. Frost, ketamine, and joy were among the substances seized.

According to CNB Superintendent Lim Sze Yuk, anti-drug enforcement measures by the agency are required” so that the public can comfortably like Singapore’s nightlife without fear of being harmed by partygoers or vehicles under the influence of drugs.”

About 20 people were checked in a nightspot in the Joo Chiat Road neighborhood on Thursday evening. A & nbsp, a 29-year-old foreign woman who had previously been seen leaving the nightclub by CNB officers, was detained with about 1g of ketamine.

A 26-year-old Taiwanese man was apprehended that same evening in the Dunman Road area. According to CNB, the aircraft he was in had roughly 3g of snow, 46g ecstasy, 90g, ketamine, and 60g worth of powdery substance thought to contain controlled drugs seized from it.

A 53-year-old Taiwanese man who had about 7g of morphine on him was also detained in the Petain Road neighborhood.

About 90 persons were examined across four entertainment venues in the Marina Bay and Bugis areas from Saturday to Sunday.

A 19-year-old man was detained on suspicion of pharmaceutical offenses.

According to CNB, Singapore has a rigid zero tolerance policy toward controlled substances, and the Misuse of Drugs Act makes it illegal to import, export, possess, sell, or consume such substances. & nbsp,

The company added that it is also illegal for someone to plan gatherings for drug abuse, as well as for the concept owner, tenant, or occupier to allow the property to be used for drugs or drug trafficking.

Forty-nine men were detained in a Sentosa resort palace last month for suspected drug offenses after police took action on tip-off. & nbsp, Ecstasy, ketamine, and drug paraphernalia were among the materials seized.
