
Forrest Li, a billionaire from tech company Sea and chairman of Lion City Sailors of Singapore, has announced his intention to run for the top position in the Football Association of Singapore ( FAS ).
A Sailors spokesperson confirmed this on Monday ( Mar 17 ), after FAS announced it would hold its election on April 28. A Sailors spokesperson responded to CNA’s questions.

The 47-year-old made the decision after FAS requested on Monday that committee members be elected for a four-year word starting in 2025 to 2029.
The vote will take place on April 28 during the agency’s Amazing Congress, according to FAS in a press release. Its yearly parliament typically occurs in the second quarter of the year.
A group of nine candidates for the president’s, deputy leader, four vice-presidents, and three committee members is proposed and chosen in the stone foundation election.
The remaining six council members may be proposed and chosen separately, according to FAS, adding that at least one woman must remain a member.
Nominations began on Monday, and on March 31 the deadline to submit candidates for the FAS common secretary closed.  ,
On April 18 , a notification will be made about the prospects who qualified to run.
Bernard Tan, the current head of FAS, has not stated whether he will be running in the vote.  ,

Previous Woodlands Wellington director R Vengadasalam, a senior in the Singapore sports fraternity, is another potential candidate.
He stated when contacted that he was looking to form a group.  ,
