SINGAPORE: An SBS Transit bus driver died after an accident in Kaki Bukit on Thursday ( Nov 21 ) night.
The 58-year-old gentleman was comatose when taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, the police said on Friday.
Five female travellers- aged between 26 and 38- were likewise injured and taken to the hospital, authorities added.
At the intersection of Kaki Bukit Avenue 2 and Kaki Bukit Road 1, on August 11, around 11pm, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the officers were called to the scene.
At the intersection of Kaki Bukit Ave 2 and Kaki Bukit Ave 2, a van was said to have” self-skidded” in the collision, according to authorities.
The vehicle crashed straight into a tree, according to a Twitter post from Singapore Bridges Accident.com.
The windshield’s window had partially dislodged and was smashed.  ,
In response to CNA’s questions, Mrs Grace Wu, director for SBS Transit, said the vehicle involved in the accident was an SBS Transit van plying the company 137 way.
” However, our vehicle commander succumbed to his injury while undergoing cure”, Mrs Wu said.
We are profoundly saddened by his passing, according to the family. His family is receiving our fullest support and assistance during this very tough time, and we have extended our sincere condolences to them.
Mrs. Wu added that SBS Transit was present at the clinic to “extend our care, concern, and provide support as best we can” and that” the well-being of the five people is also our top priority.”
She continued,” We will keep in touch with them and wish them a quick and painless recovery.”
SBS Transit is assisting police in their studies.
