Ryan Gosling is bringing major ‘Ken-ergy’ to the upcoming ‘Barbie’ film

In a fever dream of an interview , the Canadian actor snuck a number of Ken portmanteaus in to a discussion that was supposed to focus on his new Netflix action thriller, “The Gray Guy. ” But “Entertainment Tonight” couldn’t maintain a Ken down.
Chris Evans’ character in “The Grey Man” calls Gosling’s character a “Ken doll” in a meta reference to Gosling’s forthcoming role as Barbie’s bleach-blond partner. But being called a “Ken doll” will be “not an slander at all, ” Ryan gosling said, but an indicator that Evans’ character recognized an unique feel within him.
“I possess that Ken-ergy that he could feel, certainly, ” he told “ET” in the to begin many Ken puns. “I still think that the Ken-ergy will be alive. ”
When host Lauren Zima asked him in order to elaborate on what, specifically, Ken-ergy is, he or she merely doubled down: “You have a Tobey maguire in your life, and you know that Ken has Ken-ergy. ”
Even when he was fielding questions about their new Netflix movie, Gosling found ways to bring everything to Ken, painting the complex picture of a toy with a tortured soul and an incredibly generous girlfriend.
“That Tobey maguire life is even more difficult than the ‘Gray Man’ life, I think, ” he said. “Ken’s got no money, your dog is got no job, he’s got simply no car, he’s obtained no house. He is going through some things. ”
When pushed on the plot facts of “Barbie, ” Gosling played coy and began to obnubilate the lines between our reality and that of the “Barbie” film.
“Whatever Barbie says is exactly right, ” he said. “It’s not what you think it is, unless it is. And after that you know what it is, yet I don’t think that’s what you think it is. Wait around, what are we referring to? ”
He didn’t want to reveal more, he or she said; otherwise, Mattel would come and “box [him] up. ” Actively playing plastic for such a long time seems to have gone to Gosling’s head.
