YANGON:   Russia backs the Myanmar junta’s efforts in order to “stabilise” the crisis-wracked country, its foreign minister said on Wednesday (Aug 3) during talks with top generals, according to Russian state mass media.

M yanmar has been around chaos since the military’s power grab last year, with more than 2, a hundred people killed inside a crackdown on refuse, according to a local monitor.

“We are in solidarity with the efforts (by the junta) aimed at stabilising the situation in the country, ” Sergei Lavrov mentioned during talks within Myanmar’s capital Naypyidaw, according to the TASS information agency.
