Punggol Digital District to have 200-room hotel facing Coney Island

SINGAPORE: The Punggol Digital District, an impending smart and responsible business district, may be home to a 200- place hotel facing Coney Island, JTC said on Tuesday ( Apr 30 ).

The resort will be integrated within a business area building that will be located along the northeast end of the city, JTC, the state’s manager and designer, told CNA. &nbsp,

The development, which could also take the form of a serviced residence, is expected to have a gross floor area of about 8, 140 sq m, it added. &nbsp,

The site’s 60-year tenure led to an appeal for expressions of interest, according to JTC. This exercise, which was managed by real estate company JLL, closed at 1pm on Tuesday.

By the end of the first quarter of 2024, JTC had permission to construct a 223-room hotel at Punggol Way, according to Urban Redevelopment Authority data released on April 26.

Additionally, according to the data, JTC was approved to construct a retail and office development at Punggol Way with 26, 865 square feet of gross floor space for retail use.

This year, both projects are scheduled to be finished. Starting in the second half of 2024, the Punggol Digital District will gradually become operational. &nbsp,

” Designed as a vibrant ecosystem, the 50- hectare district will include retail, dining and lifestyle amenities for the business and academic community, as well as the surrounding residents in Punggol”, JTC said.

The district will also house a UOB technology and innovation center as well as the new campus of the Singapore Institute of Technology.
