Prayut, 10 other cabinet ministers survive no-confidence vote

Best Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and 10 additional cabinet ministers gained a vote of confidence on Sunday after they were focused by the opposition throughout the three-day debate.

Gen Prayut secured 256 ballots of confidence towards 206 votes of no confidence along with nine abstentions.

Deputy Excellent Minister Prawit Wongsuwon received the highest ballots of 268, and Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Jurin Laksanawisit gained the lowest of 241 votes.

The most and minimum popular ministers, according to the vote by MPs:

  • Deputy Prime Minister Style Prawit Wongsuwon: 268-193, with 11 abstentions
  • Mouthpiece Prime Minister and Public Health Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Anutin Charnvirakul: 264-205-3
  • Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob: 262-205-5
  • Prime Minister plus Defence Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha: 256-206-9
  • Mouthpiece Finance Minister Santi Promphat: 249-204-18
  • Digital Economy and Society Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn: 249-205-18
  • Mouthpiece Interior Minister Niphon Bunyamanee: 246-206-20
  • Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paojinda: 245-212-13
  • Social Development plus Human Security Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Chuti Krairiksh: 244-209-17
  • Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin: 243-208-20
  • Deputy Prime Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit: 241-207-23

They will needed to muster a minimum of 239 votes, or even half of the number of MPs, to succeed in the no-confidence motion.

The censure issue was the last against the Prayut Chan-o-cha government, as the country will hold a general election next year if the prime minister does not dissolve Parliament for a by-election.

Gen Prayut on Friday denied speculation of an achievable cabinet reshuffle   in the wake from the censure debate.
