Police raided four properties and arrested 11 suspects allegedly involved in online gambling websites that cost around 70 million baht in total damages.
Pol Lt Gen Worawat Watnakhonbancha, commissioner of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), said yesterday the four online gambling websites offered services such as football betting, slot games, fish tables, bingo and more.
The websites also provided cash deposits — used as gambling credit — and withdrawals via Thai commercial banks, he said.
Officers raided the four premises of the gambling websites Xoslotz1688.com and slotking77.com.
The first site was reported to have about 35,000 users and monthly transactions of about 20 million baht, or 240 million baht a year, said Pol Lt Gen Worawat.
Its office is in Chanthaburi province. Police seized one Ford car, one Toyota minivan, one Toyota car, one Hino truck, four pickup trucks and three motorbikes along with other properties worth 30 million baht in total.
For slotking77.com, the website had about 15,000 users with a money flow of about 15 million baht monthly or 180 million baht a year.
Pol Lt Gen Worawat said police raided three locations of the website’s offices, including a house in Thanyaburi district of Pathum Thani, a house in Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani and a condominium unit in Muang district of Trang.
Officers confiscated luxury cars and watches, designer bags, gold bars and guns worth 40 million baht.
Pol Lt Gen Worawat said the actress Arisara “Due” Thongborisut, who shed light on the operations of the online-gambling website Macau888 and those involved via Facebook, would meet the national police chief this week and provide further details.
