Vientiane, Laos, will host Prime Minister Lawrence Wong from Wednesday ( October 9 ) to Saturday for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN ) summits and related summits.
Since taking office in May, he may have his first international meetings with the leaders of various nations.
Mr. Wong will match with his Burmese counterpart Sonexay Siphandone to give him an official dinner after the summits wrap up on Friday.

Mr Wong, who is also the Minister for Finance, may lead the Singapore delegation to the 44th and 45th ASEAN conferences and related conferences.
Southeast Asian leaders will review the bloc’s community-building efforts and discuss ways to create opportunities for people and businesses, especially in new growth areas such as the digital and green economies, the Prime Minister’s Office ( PMO ) said in a statement on Tuesday.
They will also seem to develop ASEAN’s role in forging an empty, equitable and stable regional infrastructure, it added.
According to PMO,” Laos ‘ chair design,” Enhanced Connectivity and Resilience,” highlights the country’s substantive and forward-looking plan to strengthen ASEAN’s unity and endurance in the face of geopolitical and economic headwinds.”
Mr Wong and his peers will even discuss ways to increase the bloc’s relationship with several world leaders at the 27th ASEAN Plus Three Summit, the 19th East Asia Summit and conferences with Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Nations and the United States.
This week’s ASEAN-Japan Summit will be the first under Singapore’s three-year name as the land in charge of coordinating discourse between the two sides.
