As part of the Phuket Peranakan Festival 2025, Phuket is gearing up for a magnificent party, including a grand fiesta march.

The event, scheduled for June 20 through June 22, is anticipated to boost the hotel island’s economy by bringing in over 400 million baht.

According to Adul Chuthong, Phuket’s lieutenant governor, the celebration has been elevated to a fresh level in part in response to the prestigious awards Phuket just received.

These honors include the Gold Pinnacle Award at the IFEA Annual Convention &amp, Expo in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Creative City Award ( Cultural Asset category ) from the Creative Economy Agency ( CEA ), and the Asia Pinnacle Award from the International Festivals &amp, Events Association ( IFEA ) Asia.

Bali takes great pride in preserving its Peranakan heritage, especially its standard Baba-Yaya dress and Sino-Portuguese architecture, according to Mr. Adul, adding that Phuket is a lovely island with abundant natural attractions and historic appeal that attract visitors from all over the world.

Prior to now, Phuket was recognized by Unesco as one of 18 Creative Cities of Gastronomy, which he claimed had increased the world’s attention to its cuisine, appeal for tourism, natural beauty, and special way of life.

He added that visiting Phuket’s Old Town and visiting Chinese visitors especially enjoy dressing up in Baba-Yaya outfits, which contributes to the island’s social preservation and economic viability.

Phuket is pleased to have received this high level of recognition and invites both locals and foreign visitors to take part in this premier event for the second year in a row, he said.

The festival’s new theme,” Island of Artistic,” was chosen to mark its third year, according to Boonperm Intanapasat, president of the Thai International Events &amp, Festivals Association ( TIEFA ).

Individuals from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore continue to be drawn to Phuket. Instead of being hired singers, festival performers are all genuine members of their populations. This, according to Kosol Taenguthai, chairman of the Peranakan Association of Thailand, highlights the sincerity and power of the local social networking.

More than 2, 000 players from Peranakan populations across Thailand and the Philippine Peninsula are expected to take part in around 20 procession this year, according to Mr. Boonperm, along with 15, 000 visitors.

” We’re aiming to make Phuket a real world event destination,” he said.

The Peranakan Festival has been a “global target for arts and cultural tourism” since its inception, honoring the tradition of three years of Peranakan heritage and founding the Peranakan Association of Thailand.

Over the past two decades, the celebration has received widespread reputation, adding that it serves as even more encouragement for locals to preserve and go down this treasured heritage, she continued.

The main attraction of the festival will be the internationally acclaimed Peranakan fiesta festival, which will take place on June 21. A fireworks display and other celebrations may follow it.

On June 22, more than 200 nearby restaurants and neighborhood restaurants will attempt to set a Guinness World Record by cooking Phuket Hokkien pasta in over 200 big woks. The food that will be prepared may be given to festivalgoers.
