Mr. Godec expressed his grief at the loss of Thai staff and the situation of the others who were held captive by the erupting last October during the meeting.
Mr. Noppadon claimed he had requested assistance from the US minister in obtaining the remaining Thai nationals ‘ safe release.
The UN Security Council approved a plan for a cease-fire in Gaza, which the Pheu Thai MP thanked the United States for supporting. He argued that it was a necessary step in the direction of a more lasting harmony in the area.
In February, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported that 39 Thai people died and 23 were freed in response to the Hamas strike. The death of the remaining six Thai victims is unknown. In May, it was confirmed that two Thai captives had died.
The House committee reiterated to the US embassy that Thailand supports international law and that its international policy is impartial and unaligned with any nation, according to Mr. Noppadon.
He added that the committee commended Washington for supporting Thailand in its application to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ( OECD ), and expressed his gratitude to them.
