A fire that broke out in Potong Pasir on Wednesday ( Aug 28 ) resulted in the death of one person in Singapore.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was  , alerted to a fireplace outside a level at Block 107 Potong Pasir Avenue 1 at about 6.45am.
The fire was put out by members of the public with a blaze extinguisher , before officers arrived, said SCDF.
A nurse declared the victim dead at the scene. A burnt male body was discovered outside the apartment, according to Lianhe Zaobao’s paper.
A CNA user reported that eight police automobiles were seen at the foot of the wall, and that police officers had been spotted outside an eighth-floor unit as well.
The audience, who identified himself as Kyler, said he lives a few floors away in the the same wall. At 8:30 am, he noticed anything was wrong when he photographed the police vehicles. By that point, authorities had previously cordoned off the field, he added.
