Paradise Group releases CCTV screenshots to refute tourist’s claims of overpriced crab dish

SINGAPORE: In response to claims made by a Japanese holiday that she was overcharged for Singapore’s famous pepper crab dish, restaurant operator Paradise Group released many photos taken from closed-circuit television footage at one of its restaurants on Wednesday( Sep 20 ).

Junko Shinba, the tourist, informed AsiaOne last week that her group of four diners were charged S$ 938( US$ 685 ) on August 19 for a chilli crab prepared in the manner of an Alaskan King Crab at Seafood Paradise in Clarke Quay.

Ms. Shinba asserted that the server strongly advised a specific type of lobster for Mho$ 30 but made no mention of the price per 100g.

According to the AsiaOne statement, she added that they were not informed of the crab’s overall weight before it was cooked.

As stated in the report,” none of us were informed that the whole lobster would be cooked just for us, as some other eateries serve crabs part.”

Ms. Shinba claimed she asked a servant to call the police after being shocked by the S$ 1, 322.37 costs that arrived.

Ms. Shinba’s companion paid for the dinner with his credit card after the restaurant boss offered a reduction of S$ 107.40.

” False Says”

On Wednesday night, Paradise Group posted on Facebook to clarify the situation, stating:” We are profoundly offended by the false accusations made by this group of customers, which appear to be intended to harm the reputation of our restaurant and our devoted staff on numerous platforms.”

After being shown the different varieties of crab on the menu that day, the restaurant’s owner claimed that the tourists & nbsp chose the Alaskan King Crab.

The Northern King Crab, one of the largest nutritious crabs in the world with a weight of up to 5 kg, was priced at S$ 26.80 per 100g, the company’s Seafood Paradise individual added.

The individual also informed them that the Northern King Crab weighed 3.5 kg overall.

The Northern King Crab was listed at a” annual value” on the menu of Seafood Paradise’s Clarke Quay store, according to CNA checks.

The price of the Scotland Snow Crab, which was ranked higher than the Northern King Crane, was Sulphur$ 26.80 per 100g.
