KUALA LUMPUR: On Tuesday, October 24, more than 16, 000 people showed up, including Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as Malaysia staged yet another military operation in support of the Palestinians in the midst of a protracted Middle Eastern fight that has claimed thousands of lives.
At a rally organized by the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia( Abim ) at an indoor stadium in Kuala Lumpur, participants from all ages and walks of life, including students, professionals, refugees, religious leaders, and politicians, gathered.
Creative artist Anisah Zahirun, 23, who traveled only from Puchong, Selangor, was one of the exchange attendees, many of whom were wearing bright and chanting for Palestine to remain free.
She claimed that she don’t bear to watch movies or information about the issue because she was so deeply affected by what was happening in Gaza. & nbsp,
” I’m curious as to where the society is.” She told CNA,” I am so scared to actually watch the news because I will become very shaky and frightened.
She hoped that Malaysia would be able to exert more pressure on the world to put an end to the fight.
” There is noises whenever Gaza is bombed, but then it quiets down.” And it keeps happening, she continued.
The violent group’s cross-border attacks on October 7 that killed about 1,400 people in Israel sparked the Israel-Hamas battle.
Since then, Israel has heavily bombarded the Gaza strip with airstrikes, killing at least 5,000 Palestinians, and a floor insulting is imminent.
Ms. Sharifah Fatimatiz Zahra, 36, a different Malaysian, stated that she wanted to attend the rally because she was unwilling to engage in physical combat with the Palestinians at the time.
The protest was attended by Mrs. Sharifah, a Negeri Sembilan native, along with her husband and two kids.
