SINGAPORE: One person has died after a Singapore Airlines ( SIA ) flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence, the carrier said on Tuesday ( May 21 ).
” We can ensure that one person died and was hurt on table the Boeing 777-300ER. There were a total of 211 people and 18 crew on board”, said SIA in a Twitter post on Tuesday night.
SQ321, which left London’s Heathrow Airport at 10.38pm native day on Monday, was diverted to Bangkok on Tuesday. At 3.45 p.m. local time ( 4.45 p.m. Singapore time ), it made an airplane landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport.  ,
” Our top goal is to give as much help as we can to all people and the crew on board the aircraft,” said SIA.
” We are working with the regional government in Thailand to provide the needed medical aid, and we are sending a group to Bangkok to provide any extra help needed.”
No details about the deceased person’s ethnicity or whether they were on a ship with a team.
