NTT launches its Cyberjaya 6 data center in Malaysia

  • Plans to invest over US$50 million for its new data center
  • Wll cater to hyperscalers, corporations to accelerate digitalisation

NTT launches its Cyberjaya 6 data center in Malaysia NTT Ltd announced the beginning of its sixth information center construction in Cyberjaya shortly after the completion of its 5th data center (CBJ5) in 2021.

In a statement, the IT facilities and services organization said it programs to initially spend over US$50 million (RM224. 5 million) for the new data center known as Cyberjaya 6 (CBJ6).  

This complements CBJ5 which covers just under 20 000 sq metre with a total service load of 22MW when combined with CBJ6, it added.  

According to NTT, the service will cater to hyperscalers and high-end corporations to accelerate electronic transformation across industrial sectors in Malaysia as the nation ushers within the new digital period.  

With its global reach alongside local operational expertise, the firm said its information centers have supplied businesses in Malaysia with access to a wide portfolio of ICT solutions to support digital growth and needs, being the first corporation to receive Multimedia Extremely Corridor status back in 1997.

“We are confident which the company’s efforts may contribute to the country’s goal of becoming an electronic digital nation, helping this achieve a 22. 6% GDP boost in the digital economy simply by 2025. ”

Yasuo Suzuki, executive vice chief executive of data center service at NTT, Ltd said, “With this expansion via a new data center launch, NTT may drive business opportunities locally and also across APAC.

“NTT’s investment will support Malaysia’s digitalisation, and accelerate the growth of our domestic plus APAC digital environment. ”

According to NTT, the optical submarine wire MIST between Malaysia, Singapore, and India which is currently under construction, will allow connectivity between CBJ5 and CBJ6 to further enhance Malaysia’s system connectivity globally and build sustainable socio-economic impact.
