Monsoon floods in India’s Gujarat kill at least 28 people

Delhi, India: Intense rain rains and floods in India’s Gujarat position killed at least 28 people in the past three weeks, some drowning and individuals hit by falling branches, federal officials said.

More heavy rain is forecast for the western coastal state on Thursday ( Aug 29 ), according to the weather department.

More than 30 000 people have fled their homes as a result of river having burst their banks.

Late on Wednesday, the state government announced that 13 people had drowned and the rest had fallen from their homes or plants.

According to the Indian Express news, 35 people have died so far in the state.

Disaster- and military officers who were on the ground to assist 1, 856 people saved some 1, 856 lives.

According to the press release, Vadodara was one of the worst-hit places.
