SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Manpower ( MOM) and the Workplace Safety and Health ( WSH) Council on Sunday ( Sep 22 ) advised companies to prepare for erratic and sudden changes in weather conditions.  ,
In particular, they urged companies to be prepared for stronger breezes, hotter temperatures, longer dry spells and increased episodes of thunder and flash floods.  ,
In a consultative statement from MOM and the WSH Council, MOM stated that” Singapore is beginning to experience the effects of climate change” along with other nations in the area.  ,
The expert noted that on September 17 Singapore experienced strong winds and heavy rains that slammed trees, snarled customers, and caused property destruction.
MOM and the WSH Council said businesses, especially those in outdoor areas, you employ four steps to better plan for adverse weather conditions.
Second, they can closely monitor weather conditions by using wind monitoring devices and, if necessary, by downloading weather updates, such as those provided by the National Environment Agency via the myENV mobile app.
