MOM cracks down on commercial diving violations; 12 companies, 7 individuals taken to task

During a three-month activity by Singapore government, 12 professional diving businesses and seven people were slapped with a full of 65 sanctions for security breaches.

These included a stop work order for a diving supervisor and S$ 13, 000 ( US9, 630 ) in fines to companies and individuals.

The Ministry of Manpower ( MOM) and the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore ( MPA ) jointly conducted the operation from September to December 2024, according to MOM on Thursday ( Feb 6 ). &nbsp,

It made two fatalities at Singapore anchorages last year because commercial divers used recreational self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA ) as opposed to the commercial surface-supplied diving apparatus ( SSDE ). &nbsp,
