The owner of @micasa_fucasa, who only wanted to be known as Carolyn, started  her account to craft her identity as a home owner after she decided to settle down in Singapore. She became a Singapore citizen a couple of years ago.

Carolyn’s four-room toned in Queenstown will be, according to her Instagram bio, “inspired simply by mid-century modern using a dash of Singaporean pragmatism”.

The 42-year-old item specialist at an electronic media company who also lives alone wasn’t always as “house proud” as she actually is now, she mentioned.

“I definitely like to home now way more compared to before. I also think it is because I possibly made the place to a liking and I am just really comfortable with this. I do enjoy in it versus wanting to be out constantly, ” she additional.

“There is thought put in the placement of points. And in the last two years ever since I transferred in, there’s furthermore more thought put in the things I want to obtain. I’m definitely more selective. ”

Carolyn applies exactly the same selectiveness to controlling her account. Her eclectic home provides attracted one brand name that worked with her on a sponsored blog post for linen bedsheets, a YouTube feature for local press outlet Stacked Houses and a few companies that will wanted to potentially use her home just for photoshoots.

Still, she is conscious about not “posting for the sake of posting”.

“I article when I feel like it. This is still a passion project for me personally; I didn’t wish to feel like after a particular threshold, like one, 000 followers, which i needed to make this right into a more regular thing. I suppose I could, yet right now, how I approach it in my own way suits me at the moment, ” she said.

And right now, it is “fun”. After all, despite the girl lack of interior design background, Carolyn found their self willingly helping anyone to style their home.

When first approached about her fee for styling, she told the individual that she failed to have one as the girl had no experience of interior design, but the girl was willing to help if she could.

“Long story short, I ended up helping her by providing advice. And I has been pointing out to the girl a couple of options regarding changing up some of the furniture pieces, ” she recounted.

“In the end, over a couple of months, the girl did it bit by bit. And after that she showed me the end result of that, and he or she said she was very happy and very thankful for the advice. So that was fun. ”
