A 22-year-old man was detained on Wednesday ( May 15 ) after attempting to flee from a traffic police officer who was conducting a routine check along Aljunied Road.
In a later vehicle, authorities discovered a dark samurai sword, suspected controlled substances, and drug equipment.
The officer signaled for the vehicle to stop for a regular check on Wednesday at 11.25am while the officer was circling Aljunied Road.
At a vehicle stop, the driver told the officer that he would complie and take over. But after stopping at a bridge, the man got out of his car and fled.
He was taken into custody by the official following a brief chase, according to authorities.
The person can be seen running across a traffic intersection with his bike in a movie that Singapore Road Accident posted on Wednesday. An agent is in pursuit of him.
The official dismounts and pursues the man as he heads back toward his vehicle, dressed in black and with a helmet.
The official caught up with him and handcuffed him when he reached his vehicle.  , Two travellers are seen alighting from the vehicle.
The vehicle was arrested for possessing an unpleasant tool, cheating by personation, several traffic- related offences and suspected medication- related offences, said the police, adding that investigations are ongoing.
