A lady, 54, was detained in this eastern county after being alleged to have engaged in tax avoidance totaling about 430 million baht at various companies.

The woman, who has only been identified as Somboon, was detained on Sunday in the parking lot of an apartment building in the Sri Racha district’s tambon Surasak, according to the Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ).

The CIB claimed that three businesses had a history of tax avoidance on Ms. Somboon.

The arrest was based on a situation where a shipping company was alleged to have evaded fees for centuries.

Officials discovered that the business had not paid wages in cash without providing any relevant documentation, issued tax invoices, and had not declared exceptionally low sales. Authorities told police that the company has dodged value-added tax for the past five years, and that the amount of evaded tax plus a good is thought to be$ 186 million.

Ms. Somboon claimed to have been a girl at a business in 2015 and that her employer had asked her to sign paperwork that she had not read.

She eventually received a police call notice, but she never received it. Therefore, police requested an arrest warrant for her.
