Live performances, activity booths at Istana open house on Nov 12 to celebrate Deepavali

SINGAPORE: To commemorate Deepavali on Sunday ( Nov 12 ), the general public can take advantage of live performances, activity booths, and guided tours with the Istana open to the public.

According to a media release from the President’s Office on Wednesday, the empty house may be held from 8.30 am to 6 pm.

At the occasion, award-winning flautists Tan Qing Lun and Ghanavenothan Retnam may do a fusion of Indian and Chinese traditional music.

Throughout the day, scholar teams from Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, Team Fusion, Bukit Timah Primary School, Yishun Secondary Schools, St. Magaret’s School.

The wax skill, candle-making, and balloon sculpting booths are available for visitors who want to participate in hands-on activities.

From 9.30 am to 5:00 pm, visitors may visit the Istana on a guided tour. During this time, they may perceive particular function rooms and examine dozens of state gifts that were given to Singapore’s leaders. &nbsp,

The Istana key creating guided tours, which are limited to 15 individuals per team and flee at 30-minute distances, will be led by volunteers from the National Heritage Board.

From 10am to 4pm, a guided tour of the Istana’s flora and fauna will also be attainable. These tours are also only open to groups of 15 and leave every minute. They are run by&nbsp, participants from NParks. &nbsp,
