The girl had testified that Lim told her “innocent music” did not buy, citing Corrinne May as an example.
According to the girl, Lim said Ms May was” never successful, she’s just a school teacher”.
Lim refuted this, claiming that Ms. May was a “very dear companion and a pretty respectable musician” and that stupid song sells best in Asia.
He claimed that Ms. May sent him a cassette audio that he still has and that he was “very impressed” by her voice.
” I took her on, mentored her, I also got her to perform at my marriage, got her to write music for me, negotiate for me, make for me. I wrote a witness for her to be at the Berklee College of Music after she left NUS,” says Lim.
” For the plaintiff to lay so plainly is pretty awful and disgraceful”, said Lim. I’ve been a mentor to many people for years, and I’ve never said anything negative about them, and I mean she’s like a well-known artist. To say that she’s a kindergarten teacher… just does n’t make any sense”.
Mr May is set to speak for Lim’s army.
When asked what the woman and Lim discussed with her at their meeting about Corrinne May, Lim responded that they had discussed how Ms May wrote about her values and relationships and how she was really sincere, straightforward, and relevant.
He claimed that his accuser wanted to create special music and job her own sweetness. However, he said she was” sheltered” and” cloistered” with no one telling her the truth and he was probably the first one who was critical of her.
” A lot of young artistes tend to think they know what they’re talking about, but the truth is they are clueless”, said Lim.
Lim said his accuser told him her father had funded her Extended Play ( EP ) album, and that she was a” Starbucks artist” which she” seem (ed ) very proud of”.
Lim recalls the woman’s family picking her up after the three-hour meeting, which she claimed had taken place because the woman claimed to have claimed that her mother had dropped her away.
The girl claimed that her mother was her “full-time driver,” which Lim claimed he remembered because it was “pretty comical” when he asked her if she had waited all that long.
Because he was giving his friend a favor by meeting her, Lim claimed he gave her” some time to capture what we had discussed” before holding a second meet.
The woman was not recall when she arrived home from the next meeting, where Lim reportedly made sexual advances toward her in the parking lot, but her attorneys claimed that her mother, who she claimed, frequently drove her around, was the one who took her there.
On July 25, 2012, the girl met Lim for the next day. According to Lim, she allegedly asked him if he could mark her for an artist, and he responded” absolutely no.”
He said he told her she did certainly have what it takes-” You may have the passion, the vision, but you may not have the elements”.
He stated that when he signs an artist, he checks three things: first, they must be in their 18 to early 20s and there must be a airport to produce the artist.
Second, the character may send” the correct feeling” and have the X-factor. Third, the individual must possess the talent and ability to sing or write great songs.
” If you do n’t have these qualities, it’s really pointless for you to sign any individual”, said Lim.
After the person claimed that Lim had pressured her into smoking a cigarette after we had met, she claimed that Lim had gone to the car park and asked her “what if I have sex with you right then?”
But Lim refuted this, saying that he had been smoking in his company, as he often did, when the person asked him for a cigarette.
” So my recollection is, I was smoking, like I did in the first meeting, she asked me for a cigarette, I passed it to her”, said Lim.
” She likewise highlighted she wrote a song about cigarettes, but truly she had not tried smoking. She really wants to try, which is what she gave me, or she really wanted to show me how to change. It’s really as simple as that, I do n’t know why she said she was pressured”, said Lim.
However, Lim said the girl testified that she enjoyed the smoke, calling it” a novelty”.
Lim claimed that he was unsure of what” this contradiction” meant.
THE FINAL 1
The girl was asked to join another real singing program by Channel 5- The Final 1 in a language communication in January 2013.
According to Lim, it was one thing to be an artist and another to get a actor, and he explained that even though he did not want to mark her on, she was still continue to be a performer.
The woman’s vocal coach and her husband exchanged information about being invited to perform on the show, according to the defense.
The lady informed her vocal manager that Lim had informed her that she lacked what it means to work with him as a signed-on recording artist.  ,
If Lim claimed she did not have what it takes on television, she said she feared losing her status and that she would do it.
” The whole Ken Lim thing is dodgy, so do n’t want to get involved… and also I just think there are a lot of stronger singers out there! But even if they have a subsequent season”?! The girl texted her vocal manager.
In reaction, the manager replied:” Ken Lim sneaky! “?
Responding to this, Lim said:” Well, if she thought that my goal was to ask her so I can bang her, I got a lot more people to smash. I do n’t have to slam her”.
He said the woman may have done well despite what he thought, as it was up to public election, and that she had formed her own opinions.
” Her ( perceived ) intention that I wanted her to join so I can slam her- I think that’s totally ridiculous”, said Lim.
The lady also stated that she was concerned about joining the contest because she was concerned that Lim may threaten to rape her if she entered.
When asked if this was his intention, Lim replied,” I do n’t think I have to explain because this is a far-fetched embellished possibility she has out of desperation or whatever I do n’t know- the truth is the judges do n’t interact with the participants. We do n’t interact with them, so we do n’t have any influence over them on any of these reality TV shows.
He said the girl was finally on the show, but not as a member. He said he met her recently-” I met her behind, I said hi, chat a little bit, she’s smiling, little little, the usual hi hi farewell bye”.
When asked by his attorney if there was any evidence or idea that she had experienced trauma at the time of their conference, Lim replied,” She was always traumatized so there’s no reason why she should be there.”
Additionally, the woman claimed that Lim had told her to “go over to the dark part,” dust, lie on her boyfriend, and use drugs.
Lim denied this, exclaiming:” Why did I tell her to get drugs? And for crying out loud, where had she be able to get the medicines from, I have no idea”.
The prosecution continues.
There are two more estimated witnesses for the defense, besides Lim, Corrinne May, a member of his lunch buddy group, and his other friend.
If convicted of insulting a person’s humility, he faces up to a year’s prison, a good or both.
