Indonesia to test flying taxis for new capital Nusantara in July, ahead of Independence Day showcase

In July, Indonesia will test its first flying cars in Jakarta’s new capital, Nusantara, back of an expected display at the region’s upcoming Independence Day festivities on August 17.

Vehicle parts have arrived in Balikpapan in East Kalimantan, said Mr Bambang Susantono, head of the Nusantara Capital City ( IKN) Authority, on Wednesday ( May 29 ). &nbsp,

Its chargers have arrived in Jakarta and will be shipped to Samarinda, a nearby town in East Kalimantan. &nbsp,

After the parts are inspected and assembled, trials will take place at the Samarinda aircraft for a fortnight. The cars can have five people, according to Mr Ali Berawi, IKN Authority secretary for clean and modern change.

The Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI ) and Hyundai Motors Company collaborate on the flying taxis. In order to create an innovative air mobility habitat in Indonesia in 2022, the Nusantara Capital City Authority and Hyundai signed a memorandum of understanding.

Certainly many people in the world have the opportunity to fly vehicles, added Mr. Bambang.

Local media reported that flying cars are becoming a truth, with Indonesia joining the ranks of places such as the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia, and Japan, which have begun testing.

By 2045, Nusantara anticipates having the aircraft flying over the area. &nbsp,

Following the prosecution, Hyundai is anticipated to create a business model for the flying cars through Supernal, its American conglomerate with a focus on urban air mobility. Additionally, it may develop autonomous aircraft technologies for the automobiles.
