Indian police arrest hospital boss after six babies die in fire

Local fire official Atul Garg told writers,” We were trying to control the flames, but there was no way to enter the building and recovery the 12 caught children.”

Surendra Chaudhary, a senior police officer, told AFP that the doctor “did not have a fire exit system.”

The proprietor had crammed into the hospital more than double the number of beds it had formerly been allowed to use because its license had come to an end in March.

He claimed that the doctor had authority for up to five beds but that more than ten had been installed.

” In view of all this, we have made the detention”.

Five infants who were saved from the fireplace are also recovering in a different clinic.

” HIGHLY FLAMMABLE”

Just days after a split fire at an amusement park in Gujarat, India’s northern state, the hospital’s fire on Saturday started.

The burden from that fire rose to 28 on Monday, authorities said.

Weld work on the ground floor was the cause of the fire, key fire official Ilesh Kher told reporters, and it ripped through a center with a bowling alley and other activities full of young people.

” The Camera film plainly shows that a fire from the welding job fell on a stack of perforated paper plates beneath, causing the flames,” Kher said.

” This spread very rapidly as the fabric was very explosive”.

The dead have not yet been identified because they have been severely burned.

In connection with that blaze, authorities have charged seven individuals with criminal homicide.

The India Meteorological Department reported that the two flames occurred as north India was experiencing soaring temperatures of 46.8 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday.
