SINGAPORE: A 12-year-old female pedestrian died after an accident involving a van along Yuan Ching Road in Jurong on Tuesday (Jan 30) afternoon.
A male van driver, 23, was arrested for careless driving causing death, the police said in response to TODAY’s queries.
The police said that they were alerted to the accident along Yuan Ching Road towards Boon Lay Way at 3.47pm on Tuesday.
A Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic pronounced the girl dead at the scene, and took another person to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
No further details on the second person were provided.
A video of the accident was posted on Singapore Roads Accident’s Facebook page, showing a blue tent in the middle of the road, with several police officers and vehicles at the scene.
Police investigations are ongoing.
