GE2025: US congratulates PM Wong, PAP on election win

SINGAPORE: The United States has &nbsp, congratulated Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and the ruling People’s Action Party ( PAP ) on their landslide victory in the General Election on Saturday ( May 3 ).

In a speech, &nbsp, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio&nbsp, said the Trump presidency looked forward to working closely with the newly elected government.

” For almost 60 times, the United States and Singapore have shared a strong and enduring corporate relationship and a devotion to a stable, free, and rich Indo-Pacific place”, he added. &nbsp,

” We look forward to continuing to work closely with the recently elected government and Prime Minister Wong to improve economic rise and our diplomatic defense and security relations, which benefit Americans, Singaporeans, and others across the territory”.

In its first General Election under Mr Wong, the judgement PAP won&nbsp, 87 out of 97 chairs, increased its voting discuss from 61.2 per share to 65.57 per share, &nbsp, won fiercely contested wards&nbsp, and extended its margin of victory in most districts.
