PETALING JAYA: Three people lost consciousness following a gas leak at a fast food outlet in Pandan Jaya.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the incident occurred at 9.55am on Monday (Oct 10).
“We received a distress call and dispatched a team of 12 along with two hazmat (hazardous materials) units and a fire engine to the scene on Jalan Pandan 2/1.
“Two restaurant workers and a Health Ministry official who went in to help the workers lost consciousness in the incident,” he said.
He said firemen cordoned off the area and did not allow anyone else into the restaurant during the operation.
“We rescued the three victims and took them to an ambulance on standby near the scene.
“They were rushed to hospital for medical treatment,” he said, adding that the cause of the leak was being investigated.
