SINGAPORE: A free programme made to help students obtain literacy and proficiency in artificial cleverness (AI) was launched on Wednesday (Jul 27) by AI Singapore (AISG).
The three-year AI Student Outreach Programme aims to reach more than 15, 1000 full-time secondary plus tertiary education institution students.
By means of multi-level, self-directed online training, participants may receive industry-recognised qualifications, AISG said inside a statement.
They will also have the opportunity to work on real-world projects with AI engineers through an internship programme.
The programme, which is supported from the Ministry of Education’s STEM and Creativity & Enterprise Promotion Funding Initiative, is designed to prepare college students for career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM),
It also aims to help businesses identify AI talents and nurture a good AI engineering talent pipeline, AISG said, pointing to a 2021 Amazon report which usually found that Singapore will need 1 . two million additional digital workers by 2025 in order to remain aggressive.
“As implementation of AI continues to accelerate, there is a need for us to develop nationwide AI literacy plus develop meaningful learning experiences that guarantees a mastery associated with AI skills to fulfill the demands within our digital economy, ” said AISG movie director of AI advancement Laurence Liew.
