Former SkillsFuture chief executive Ong Tze-Ch’in to take over as chief executive of PUB

Less than one time and four weeks after the incumbent’s session, the regional water company PUB will be led by a new chief executive.

The Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment ( MSE ) announced on Tuesday( Sep 19 ) that Mr Ong Tze – Ch’in will succeed Mr. Goh Si Hou on November 1.

After November 1, Mr. Ong, 48, will remain in his current role as Deputy Secretary( Resilience ) in MSE.

On July 22 of last year, Mr. Goh, 45, was appointed PUB chief executive & nbsp, his first position since resigning as Chief of Army in March. He will & nbsp, assume another senior leadership position in the public service, according to MSE, who did not specify the position.

CHIEF Professional INCOMING

Mr. Ong oversees water and food policies, international relations, communications, engagement, and emergency planning in his current position as Deputy Secretary( Resilience ) in MSE.

Prior to this, he served as both the Deputy Secretary( SkillsFuture ) in the Ministry of Education and the chief executive of SkillsFulture Singapore.

He also held military positions, leading the Singapore Armed Forces’ 3rd Singapore Division and serving as director of military intelligence / chief C4I.

He holds two master’s degrees: one in business administration from INSEAD ( 2010 ) and the other in defense studies( 2006 ). In 1998, he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

EXECUTIVE OUTGOING CHIEF

PUB laid out long-term plans to improve Singapore’s water safety and climate resilience under Mr. Goh, according to MSE.

The Water Masterplan, which outlined the long-term network plans to guarantee the nation’s water safety, was created under his direction.

These include NEWater capability as a green water source and the” significant expansion” of Singapore’s water restoration.

Major infrastructure projects, such as the execution of tunneling projects for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System and the restoration of the Kranji Water Reclamation Plant, were likewise completed by PUB, according to MSE.

In order to move towards green growth in long-term water demand, the agency strengthened its partnership with the neighborhood and industry.

It implemented new regulations like necessary water recycling for industries that depend on water and increased funding for water performance.
