Former minister Iswaran has returned to Singapore, surrendered passport: AGC

SINGAPORE: Former Transport Minister S Iswaran has returned to Singapore and surrendered his passport to the authorities, said an Attorney- General’s Chambers ( AGC ) spokesperson on Wednesday ( Mar 20 ).

The original transport secretary had to be released from custody by March 19 and is currently on loan.

A criminal case disclosure conference (CCDC ) had been fixed for the morning of Mar 19 in the High Court, but this&nbsp, has been adjourned to Apr 2, the AGC spokesperson said.

A CCDC is a proper system where both flanks provide details about the event, including details of their circumstances and the supporting facts, to speed up the prosecution procedure.

The CCDC on March 19 was not held, according to a court spokesperson who spoke with CNA.

Iswaran, who is accused of two counts of bribery and faces more than 20 charges, was first given permission to leave Singapore between February 16 and March 4. His son’s father helped him sit into college while he was away in Australia at the time.

However, the former chancellor had a bad ol ‘ illness while on his journey, and on March 4 was given permission to travel to other parts of Singapore for an additional 16 weeks.

Iswaran was required to make a video call to an exploration official every day as part of the improvement.

When Iswaran submitted his first application for travel to Australia on February 8, there were more bail conditions that had to be met. These include&nbsp, an extra bail sum of S$ 500, 000 ( US$ 374, 000 ) in cash on top of his existing bail of S$ 800, 000.

Iswaran was even required to give an investigating officer his vacation plans and home addresses, as well as the assurance that he would always be in touch with the investigating officer.
