Floods, landslides hit central Japan months after major quake

A road in Wajima, one of the hardest hit by the massive New Year’s Day earthquake, was captured on film on public journalist NHK, which showed an entire road submerged in the street.

As of Sunday morning, one man had been killed, three were missing and two were seriously damaged in Ishikawa, the flames and crisis management company said.

Two of the missing were apparently carried away by powerful currents by at least a dozen rivers that burst their businesses.

Another three individuals who had been working for the property government to recover a street in Wajima were missing, according to Yoshiyuki Tokuhashi, a representative from the nearby government.

According to Tokuhashi, one missing employee “walked to the tunnel” close to the flood where 26 people were sheltering, adding that all 27 employees have since been taken to health.

” Save work was planned to start at 5am this night, then it was suspended due to heavy rains, but is scheduled to begin at around 11am”, he said.

Towns in Ishikawa told 75, 000 people in the region- including in the towns of Wajima and Suzu, as well as Noto city- to leave, authorities said.

The fire and crisis management agency issued another 16,800 instructions to leave in the prefectures of Niigata and Yamagata north of Ishikawa, according to the agency.
