On Saturday, a three-story home building in Bangkok’s Bueng Kum area caught fire, shattering 16 homes and injuring two people.

According to Pol Lt Treenaet Suwannang, assistant research officer at the Bueng Kum place, the affair at Nawamin Soi 24 was reported to authorities at 6.50 a.m.

On the second floor of the building, lights and a significant amount of smoke were seen previously quickly spreading to nearby homes. The fire was put out after about 30 minutes by fire crew.

Eight of the 16 damaged homes were found to have sustained significant damage, according to an original damage assessment.

Burns on their backs and arms caused accidents in two residents of one of the properties. They were brought to facilities close by.

After interrogating witnesses, Pol Lt. Treenaet claimed that residents of the structure where the fireplace started often held religious rites in a temple area. The home’s landlord, who is about 80 years old, has hearing loss, and is frequently visited by his supporters.

Witnesses claimed the old owner assumed a power outage had happened because he was sleeping on the first surface. When the neighbors started to worry, they checked his house and found a fireplace in the temple area.

According to Pol Lt Treenaet, the renter reported to the police that he had last entered the temple space on Friday.

The cause of the fire is still being looked into by authorities.
