SINGAPORE: Learners and staff associated with Evergreen Secondary School in Woodlands had been evacuated on Thursday night (Jul 21) early morning after the school received a bomb risk.

It turned out to be a false risk, said Education Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Chan Chun Perform.

“The law enforcement responded swiftly plus conducted a thorough sweep of the school compound. The police have finished their security inspections and determined it turned out a false risk, ” said Mister Chan in a Facebook post.

“The school staff plus students stayed relaxed and carried out their own evacuation protocol because planned. ”

Parents were well informed via the Parents Gateway app not to deliver their children to college.  

“All students who were currently in school this morning had been fully accounted for, and they also were asked to return home out of precaution, ” said the particular minister.  

In response to CNA’s inquiries, the police said a male teenager is assisting in investigations,   adding that will authorities are looking into the case under the Un (Anti Terrorism Measures) Regulations 2001.

The police said they were alerted to an claimed bomb threat at about 7. 40am at  11 Woodlands Road 83.

No threat items were found during security checks, said the authorities.

“The police take all security threats seriously, and can investigate persons who intentionally cause general public alarm, ” these people added.  

Mr Chan stated teachers are checking in with students on the well-being, and college counsellors are on standby to assist any student if required.

“I am glad that all our students and staff are safe, and thank the police for their swift response, ” said Mister Chan.

“The safety of our college students and staff is definitely paramount, and the Ministry of Education will not tolerate any threat or action that endangers our educational institutions, ” he added.  

“Together with the police, we will take necessary motion against anyone who causes public alarm. ”
